E-commerce as a mechanism for organizational resilience during the pandemic
Abstract
The objective is to determine the effects of the use of electronic commerce on the performance of organizations during confinement due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The hypothesis holds that, during the pandemic, electronic commerce went from being a sales mechanism whose use was marginal to a complementary one in Mexico. A structural vector autoregressive model was estimated to capture how economic units responded to conditions of social isolation. The main findings suggest that average wages have a structural impact on company income due to the specialized nature of the work.
